After Night Guard Delivery Care Instructions

  • Getting Used to Your Night Guard
It may take some time to get used to wearing your night guard. You might feel some pressure or discomfort initially, but this should decrease as you adjust. If you experience persistent discomfort, contact our office for an adjustment.
  • Wearing Schedule
Wear your night guard every night while sleeping as prescribed. Consistency is important for preventing teeth grinding and protecting your teeth.
  • Cleaning Your Night Guard
Rinse your night guard with cold water after each use. Clean it thoroughly with a soft toothbrush and mild soap at least once a week. Avoid using hot water or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the guard.
  • Storing Your Night Guard
Store your night guard in its protective case when not in use or keep it in your mouth while sleeping. Keep it out of reach of pets, as they may chew on it.
  • Monitoring for Changes
Pay attention to any changes in your bite, jaw pain, or tooth sensitivity. If you notice any issues, please contact our office for evaluation.
  • Regular Dental Check-Ups
Continue to attend your regular dental check-ups and cleanings. Bring your night guard to your dental cleaning for a check-up. Inform your dentist that you are using a night guard, as they may want to check its fit and condition during your visits.
  • Avoid Eating or Drinking
Do not eat or drink while wearing your night guard. It is only intended for nighttime use. Always store it in its case or in your mouth while sleeping.
  • Follow-Up Appointments
Schedule any follow-up appointments as recommended to ensure the night guard is working effectively and to make any necessary adjustments.
